Being guided by Maya and Sayed is what made this trip many steps above other trips. We had these guides that were fully aware of the Egyptian experience, but knew how to integrate us into it in an authentic way. We got to respect the spaces and places we were in and in turn, be welcomed into places and spaces that not everyone can access. It felt like being guided by family, who really cared about your experience.

Sayed and Maya put such intention and put a protective space around everything we did. There was not one moment when they were not caring for us and us caring for each other. We were in complete alignment and I always felt we were on the right path, the journey we were supposed to be on.

My favorite part of the trip was the immersion into the local culture. We didn’t have the tourist experience, but an ongoing, authentic experience with the People and the culture. It was so meaningful and precious and deep. To be able to sit and have a meal with people a world away. To walk on the streets and to see the eyes of the people and have recognition. It felt like a reunion.
