Why is traveling with us different?
Our filtration system uses a multi-layer system, including carbon filters and other best practices, so that water for showering and other non-drinking uses is as safe as possible. We provide bottled and filtered water for drinking and all food preparation.
Our plumbing system is designed so that no waste ever enters the river. We have multiple systems in place to ensure waste is treated and disposed of in alignment with our National Environmental Certification.
Our dahabiya was built by locals from start to finish. Our fixtures, décor and design are of the Islamic tradition and incorporates the history and lived experience of the community from which it originated
We have clear safety, hygiene and cleanliness protocols promoting best practices
Our crew receives English lessons to increase communication
We have solar panels that reduce dependence on fuel for the generator, our goal is to get to 100% solar powered within 2 years
